NOTICE OF TEACHING VACANCIES

Laramie County School District #2

The Board of Trustees for Laramie County School District #2 has approved the filling of the following positions in the school district. This notices serves as the announcement of these positions to the current certified employment staff.
According to policy GCI-R, approved positions will appear initially on the district web site and notice will be posted in all school locations, effectively opening transfer requests in the district.
All certified and qualified employees interested in a transfer will need to read the policy and comply with the requirements as contained in that policy (GCI and GCI-R).
The positions offered at this time for transfer requests are the following:

Elementary Teachers:
Albin Elementary – Kindergarten and 3rd Grade 
Burns Elementary – 1st Grade and 3rd Grade
High School Teachers:
Music (Band/Choir) – Pine Bluffs Jr./Sr. High School
Art (Varied Classes) – Pine Bluffs Jr./Sr. High School
Family Consumer Science - Burns Jr/Sr High School

All requests for transfer to these positions must be submitted to the superintendent’s office by Wednesday, April 29, 2015, by 4:00 PM. All information as required must be supplied at this time. Any position not receiving a request will be advertised for outside interest on Monday, May 4, 2015.​

It is the desire of the Board of Trustess to have all positions filled by June 30, 2015.
Teacher initiated transfer requests will not be accepted after May 31, 2015

Newly Adopted Curriculum for LCSD #2

Laramie County School District #2 continues to work on aligning district curriculum to the Wyoming Content and Performance Standards.  LCSD #2's Board of Trustees has recently adopted draft curriculum documents aligned to the Wyoming Content and Performance Standards in Health, Physical Education, and Science. American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Funding
Laramie County School District #2 is happy to announce the acceptance of American Recovery and Reinvestment Funds (ARRA Funds) approved for school districts.  

 

                                                              
 
 TEACHER QUALIFICATIONS - All parents have the right to request information about the qualifications of their child's teacher(s).  Please contact Jack Cozort, Superintendent, at 245-4050 for more information.

HOMELESS CHILDREN - Homeless is defined as an individual who lacks a fixed, regular nighttime residence or is not in a single family dwelling.  LCSD #2 has guidelines (available in every building) to identify and serve homeless chlidren in our communities.  If you know of a child or children who may be homeless, please contact an administrator and ask to complete the Referral for Homeless Child form.

The State of Wyoming provides Hathaway Merit and Need Scholarships to Wyoming students attending the University of Wyoming and Wyoming community colleges. Every Wyoming student who meets the merit requirements can earn a Hathaway Merit Scholarship. Contact your school counselor for more information.
